In this puzzle game, the sixteen pieces of the game, all different, each have 4 distinct characters: high or low, round or square, light or dark, full or hollow.
Each in turn chooses and gives a piece to the opponent, who must play it on a free space.
The winner is the one who, with a piece received, creates an alignment of 4 pieces having at least one common character and announces: "QUARTO!".
